buildling skills, building lives
In July 2024 I traveled to Muhanga, Rwanda in partnership with my church, Apostles Raleigh, and witnessed the challenges facing Rwandan women and youth. The lack of employment opportunities left many young women vulnerable to exploitation. Moved by their circumstances, I wanted to leverage my skills in graphic design to empower young Rwandans through training and small business creation. In collaboration with key Rwandan community leaders, a project developed and I will be returning in just a few weeks to train young women with graphic design skills with a custom curriculum designed for their needs. I will be taking iPads equipped with digital design software for in-person training and will virtually support their business efforts after the trip. This initiative aims to equip young Rwandans with marketable skills, enabling them to create products for the community and the church ministries. By fostering entrepreneurship and skill development, the project aspires to uplift young Rwandans and promote economic self-sufficiency.
